the last few seasons have been a little weird with the fires and the unusual weather. when coupled with the increased interest in the outdoors post-pandemic and population growth pre-pandemic, it's been slim pickins out there for a lot hunters. bummer that dude was a jerk about it, but truly... it's public land, open to the public, and for those reasons the public has to share. hike on, hunt on, just be respectful to each other.

cheers to a (hopefully) full freezer this fall :iluvbeer:

well said. be the bigger person in those scenarios. those same jerk hunters would've been the same jerks to other hunters if it was them that happened to walk through instead of a hiker, in fact, that's probably the more common scenario in the woods this time of year.

let's all stay united in our passions for wild places and public lands. and yes fill those freezers!

It happens. I was once woken up by hunters walking through my campsite before sunrise! Talk about unnerving. Since then, I learned not to camp in areas known for hunters either passing through or stalking prey. Guess we all need to learn a bit more about each other's activities. I also try to not hike in areas prone to hunters. Bad idea. Something to think about every fall. Luckily, I have enough friends who are hunters, so I'm reminded every year.
- I didn't say it was your fault. I said I was blaming you.

Many hunters I’ve encountered seem sort of lazy!!
When I lived in Craig some people just outside city limits would just sit on the rocking couch on their porch and hunt from there.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.
