The bag between 30 and 40 is definitely a summer bag in Colorado. I have a 40 degree REI bag which weighs next to nothing, but it's already losing loft after ~5 years, so this year I didn't bring it on multiday backpack in Wemi and I am glad I didn't, because temps in August dropped to about 30 F overnight. I wouldn't been really cold if I didn't bring my warmer bag. Now quilts look intriguing, I am just concerned if I get used to a quilt, I'd have trouble falling asleep in a more restricting mummy bag.

I'm allergic to down soany recommendations for a NON down bag? I have a marmot right now which is great, but only to 40 degrees or so and am finding that it's not quite warm enough at high elevations :)
