Re: 14ers list by difficulty
I don't see Pikes and Sunlight on the Routes By Difficulty list, although Sunlight may just be cut off by the disclaimer/copyright notice at the bottom.

It is. This bookmarklet has saved me much annoyance with useless floating webpage junk: javascript:(function()%7B(function%20()%20%7Bvar%20i%2C%20elements%20%3D%20document.querySelectorAll('body%20*')%3Bfor%20(i%20%3D%200%3B%20i%20%3C%20elements.length%3B%20i%2B%2B)%20%7Bif%20(getComputedStyle(elements%5Bi%5D).position%20%3D%3D%3D%20'fixed')%20%7Belements%5Bi%5D.parentNode.removeChild(elements%5Bi%5D)%3B%7D%7D%7D)()%7D)()...although Sunlight may just be cut off by the disclaimer/copyright notice at the bottom.

That recipe should be entrenched in the Middlebrook household alongside other involuntary muscle reactions like breathing and sighing disbelief at the FB side of things. Writing it down only complicates it.
Second, this isn't like the Roman Empire..it's not a "bread and circus" kinda place anymore, if you haven't noticed. So we take what we can get.
I just go back to the point that it was removed and didn't really need to be, so it's fair to question.
Finally, you seem to have some familiarity with Xanax. Is it good stuff?
Nope, just won Scrabble with that on a triple word score... that brought me euphoria, does actual Xanax?

Re: 14ers list by difficulty
I don't think 14ers.com considers Pikes Peak an actual mountain. It's omitted from that routes grouped by difficulty page, and there's no route for Barr (though there is from the crags). To be fair, there's far more signage on Barr than any other 14er I've done so if someone got lost there I doubt a 14ers route page would help them.

Re: 14ers list by difficulty
The Peaks Ranked By Difficulty was an informative guide for me to gauge my current level of badassness. I could tell by looking at the chart that by having climbed San Luis, I was way awesomer than the guy who's only climbed Handies. And that having not climbed Handies is in no way threatening to my masculinity. With this Routes by Difficulty chart...well...I just don't know anymore.

Re: 14ers list by difficulty
Perhaps instead of a list, we need a chart to plot the peaks/routes. One axis is difficulty (Class rating over how sustained the hard bits are), one axis is overall time to complete (length of route/general conditions of the route) to complete. That way, Pikes via Barr is shown as being fairly difficult because of its length, so it's way off to the right side of the graph, but Capitol is way off to the right, as well as much higher on the graph. Biersdtatd, for example, would be much more lower on both the x and y axis.
It just adds one more dimension to "how hard is this" to gauge what type of climb you wanna do. Some people want, "difficult, but not like technical-difficult", and a chart like this would help that out. Colorize the points by range, and have an option to show/hide alts. to the standard route. People would play with the graph for hours.

Justin I do believe you had a nerdgasm while conceptualizing that graph.

I have to make some DB data changes to finish the updates to the new "Grouped by Class then sorted by Overall Difficulty" page but then it wouldn't be too much work to allow a graph representation.

Re: 14ers list by difficulty
The X/Y axis chart sounds perfect to me.
Also, this got me looking at the Routes By Exposure list too. Would any of you who have done both agree that Sunlight (presumably the summit block) is more exposed than Capitol? Just curious because I don't hear too much about it.
And always a BIG thank you to Bill. I don't need no stinkin' list to always be addicted to this site.
