An update posted by Rocky Mountain Rescue on FB included this link to a news interview. Great outcome, skier was released from the hospital.

But what if you saw someone else do it on Instagram? ;)

This person was 47 years old though.

It seems this gentleman wants to remain anonymous, regardless I wish him a fast and complete recovery. I know even on a 158cm split ice can throw me on my ass, I can’t imagine using ski blades. I thought that was primarily a resort thing good skiers did to troll.

Two teenage Eldora junior ski patrollers were first on the scene. Very impressive response. https://coloradosun.com/2024/06/21/two- ... o-couloir/

So uh ya, we were up on Skywalker today and grabbed the blade. If anyone knows him or he stumbles across the post, send me a message. Located in Denver.

Glad people were nearby to help and wish him a speedy recovery.

Ironic timing but I'd say these guys disagree. Ski Blading off the Grand Teton is wild:

What would Bill Briggs do?

Honestly, I totally want these blades things but for snowshoeing duties. Just a little glide would be so nice.

BD (and some other companies) make things like this. I haven't used them myself, but feel they could be really good for certain applications
