Re: Hiker missing Bells/Pyramid (elks/aspen)
Info from other Monday hikers on Pyramid (to 3 pm) , Maroon (8 to 2 pm) and North Maroon (summit about 11 then probably 3 to 4 hours down) covers that time window (noon to 5 pm) for "standard" trails (and maybe even North-west Ridge on Pyramid).
Did Dave mention other options about routes?
I know I met some fast hikers on Sunday, who started up what they called "snow route" (probably couloir, which quite surprised me) to (south) Maroon, and then switched to South Ridge. So, people are considering other options this time of year.
Current forecast (winds slightly reduced compared to Tuesday's version of forecast)

Re: Hiker missing Bells/Pyramid (elks/aspen)
A hiker has confirmed seeing Dave at ~1:40PM on Monday about halfway up the tundra slope on South Maroon.
He was wearing a black shirt that said "Burton" on it.

Re: Hiker missing Bells/Pyramid (elks/aspen)
We just talked with Aspen SAR and they briefed their plan for tomorrow and it is a sound one. They had teams in today too and have been working this since Tuesday. They are working hard, utiiizing the military, cell phone forensics and other resources. The choppers should go back up tomorrow weather permitting.
I don't know you Jen, but your uncle is the toughest guy I know.

Re: Hiker missing Bells/Pyramid (elks/aspen)
God bless you!!! He's one of the best Uncles I have. He's loved climbing since I was little and I'm 28. I use to play on his wall in the back yard in Oklahoma. May God send his Angels to provide shelter for him tonight. I would have drove up with my husband this weekend but I feel I could do just as much here and not be in people's way. I appreciate you keeping us informed, Mo, Tamera(David sister) and Donas (Daves mom) are so hurt and I hate bugging them. I can't smile throughout the day until I know my cousins have their daddy home safe. thank you sooo very much!! I can't thank you enough for what you guys are doing!! Let's bring him home safe!!! Please update as you get new info.

All I can contribute while sitting on my duff here in Denver is prayer, but pray I will that he comes through this safely. I am also praying for the safety of all of the SAR and any other personnel involved in the search, as well as Dave's family.

Re: Hiker missing Bells/Pyramid (elks/aspen)
Good Morning to all
We are about to begin our next operational period which includes reviewing and revising our plan(s)
Part of this process is establishing where the person is NOT or is less likely to be allowing the team(s) to focus resource in "likely areas
THANK YOU to each of you who have contributed even the smallest detail as we try to narrow the expansive search area.
For those of you who were out there climbing this week, keep thinking about what you saw, who you met or what you did not see.
Sometimes people think "Well I didn't see anything so I have nothing to contribute"
If you were somewhere in this search area and saw NOTHING please let us know.
It does not mean we won't search there but it helps us analyze "WHERE" we will focus FIRST
Thank you for your support in this effort

Re: Hiker missing Bells/Pyramid (elks/aspen)
Note, he is on the AT&T network so we are inteeested in text ability from the Maroons on that network. We haven't received anything new, but the info may help narrow down the sequence of events.
