Wow, there are so many subfamilies of these yellow aster (sunflower), and the variations are subtle. I'm thinking based on location that it could be Jerusalem Artichoke.

Mountain biking thru the wildflowers on the 401 Trail in Crested Butte Friday. Amazing place for wildflowers !
