Might run into you on our way down. Some of us I believe are headed up friday night, hiking in a bit and then hitting the peaks saturday morning.

Yeah, wish you guys could join us too. I'll give you a call on our way to get an update on conditions. Are you doing the Denny Creek route?
Hey Phil, MIc (rubiblu06) and I will be hiking in to the basin on Friday, possibly getting Birthday Peak on Friday as a tease, then working our way up H/C on Saturday and Sunday (meeting 2thesky and others for the weekend). I did Massive 2 weekends ago, and didn't need snowshoes at all, the trenches were solid, and the postholing was minimal. With the heat of the this and last week, I'd be surprised if shoes are needed anywhere as long as it's not 3pm when you're in the snowfield. I will risk it and not take them, only taking microspikes.

Maybe we'll catch up with you on Sunday Morning; There will be scotch and bourbon on the summits.

Time for the next great losing streak to begin.

Bill: We will look for you and Mic. We (my son Matt and I) will be arriving Sat afternoon and will have a bright orange REI tent. Enjoy your Fri/Sat hikes!
