OK, I'm advocating FOR it. Good idea.

One could, of course, hike up to the property line, turn off the tracker, "wait" an appropriate amount of time "at the property line," and turn the tracker back on to descend...

Good luck to him on this endeavor either way!

Legal considerations aside, what's the typical way to climb Lindsey on these unsupported link-ups. Dash the gash out and back, or do Lindsey on its own from the East?

Given the time of day he started up Lake Como Rd, I'd guess he gets Lindsey from the east maybe after Culebra.. I don't know Gash but getting down/up before dark seems like it'd be difficult.

What is the current record for self-supported? Andrew's was supported at 9d21h right?

Athletes Peter Jones
Route Colorado Fourteeners (CO)
Route variation Standard route
Gender category Male
Style Self-supported
Finish date 1995-08-15
Total time 16d 13h 43m 0s
Report
The 14ers have also been done in self-supported. In 1995, Peter N. Jones did them all self-supported in 16d13h43m. Jones did all the driving between trailheads himself, and so could not use the many short-cuts that supported people have taken advantage of. And of course he couldn't sleep during the drives! He followed the 3000' rule.

I don't have stats for Jones' FKT but, using Hamilton's supported 2015 FKT splits and adjusting those for Dan's amazing performance to this point, I think he has a real shot at the record. As always, there are a lot of things that can go wrong but, with a bit of weather luck on his side, he could pull it off. I am definitely rooting for him to do it. I just hope the Lindsey/Bross things get resolved behind the scenes and Dan stays healthy and has a bit of weather luck for the coming days.

Kind of surprised he declined the traverse. Is the weather holding up there?
