Lost Tent, Gear, and Rope on Jagged

Post by andrew85 »

I know this is a long shot, but I figured I’d try in case anyone is headed out that way. I injured my ankle rappelling down from the ledge above chimney 2 on Jagged yesterday and had to be airlifted out of the basin down there. My 60M rope is still attached to the summit anchor and my tent (along with other stuff in the tent like my 100L pack, sleeping bag, etc.) and Ursack hung up next to it are still in No Name basin near the end of the trail and where the creek becomes a waterfall. If anyone is planning on doing Jagged in the near future and has the capacity to retrieve some or all of these, please message me. Thank you!

Man, that sounds rough. Glad you’re ok!
The summit is a source of power. The long view gives one knowledge and time to prepare. The summit, by virtue of the dizzying exposure, leaves one vulnerable. A bit of confidence and a dash of humility is all we get for our work. Yet to share these moments with friends is to be human. C. Anker

Andrew,
Sorry to hear about your accident. 5 of us were near the Stormy Gulch area and saw the SAR helicopter come by a couple of times. Glad that you are, "relatively" ok. Wishing you a full recovery.

Thanks everyone. Mainly just taking it easy now back home as it was confirmed I have a broken ankle, lol I’ll probably use this downtime to finally write another trip report
