Long’s Peak 8/8
I’m heading up to RMNP this evening with hopes of doing Long’s peak tomorrow morning with a 2-3AM start. I know it’s incredibly last minute, but I am looking for a summiting partner if anybody is interested.

What's your experience? Your peak list is looking slim.
My bro and I are thinking Long's via the Iron Gates with a later start (like 5) FYI there's supposedly bad smoke in the area and our crew is dropping like flies. Anyway the route I'm suggesting is significantly more difficult than the Keyhole but still class 3, maybe barely 4 depending on opinions. If you haven't scrambled a little, I'd just take the Keyhole route. I did Keyhole alone my first time up there and wouldn't change it for the world. There will be a bunch of cool people there to share it with anyways for sure.

Re: Long’s Peak 8/8
Can confirm, visibility has been crap up here all week. Normally I have a nice view of Long's from the open space near my house (Broomfield). I've barely seen the Flatirons all week, haven't seen Longs since Sat/Sun. Haven't really smelled the smoke at least, but it is for sure in the air currently!JerJerBinks wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2026 6:13 pmFYI there's supposedly bad smoke in the area and our crew is dropping like flies.
