16 y/0 looking for new people to meet

Post by Ethanber »

Hey everyone,

I’m 16 and based in Colorado, and I’m looking to meet some new people around my age (or a bit older) who are into climbing some of the more technical 14ers this summer—Class 3 and 4 stuff. I’d also be stoked to ski a few more 14ers if conditions line up. I’ve already skied five 14ers, hiked a couple more, and knocked out 10 13ers so far. I also backcountry ski a lot throughout the season—mostly around the Front Range and wherever the snow is good.

I’m avy-trained (took a course up in Estes Park), and I’m solid with beacon, shovel, probe, crampons, ice axe, etc. Definitely looking to go with people who are also avalanche aware, competent climbers, and just generally solid and trustworthy in the mountains. Not trying to push sketchy situations—just looking for safe, fun, and challenging days out.

Would be cool to find some partners for peaks like Mt. Sneffels, Wetterhorn, the Sawtooth between Bierstadt and Evans, or maybe getting up Torreys via Kelso Ridge. Also down for fun 13ers, some mellow ski lines off of 14ers or 13ers before they melt out, or even just solid hikes with good views.
