Mission: Retrieve my board

Post by Linux_92 »

For those of you who don't know, I lost my board up Pikes after doing the Y. With threatening t-storms and lots of rain and a general hate for the sun, I will be attempting the Barr trail at 0100 on Saturday. This trip should prove to be a very interesting experience for me and be before all of the storms. My trip will begin at Barr trailhead near the Manitou Incline, have me travel through Bottomless pit and climb up it a little. Depending on conditions, I will either fully ascend the Y again or try taking Hero's traverse. I will bring some sunscreen just incase this time and this is a general invite to anyone who wants to come. If conditions look to worsen, I will bail and head back down, maybe get a ticket for Barr camp. I also might change this trip for Saturday night and into Sunday because it does look like it will have some light snow showers and I would love the experience to climb the Y at that time.
Still debating but I am extremely flexible with time. Wish me luck!

I don't know anything about your climbing experience, risk tolerance or interest in taking punishment, but going up into a known pending storm with decent winds at night where you're on a clock...it's only a board, probably not worth your life if things go south.
Are you afraid someone will steal it? Can you wait until after the weekend when things look better?
