GREAT! Congratulations!
The summit is a source of power. The long view gives one knowledge and time to prepare. The summit, by virtue of the dizzying exposure, leaves one vulnerable. A bit of confidence and a dash of humility is all we get for our work. Yet to share these moments with friends is to be human. C. Anker

As always, I am extremely impressed by anyone with the patience, stamina, and skills needed to finish all the 13ers. Outstanding!!!

Greetings,
Thank you all for the kind comments and affirmations! I am indeed the Moooo man  I wasn't sure I would finish visiting this year due to weather/scheduling but I'm glad it worked out. I've been inspired by many folks on this forum and it helped me realize this goal wasn't impossible or as mad as I once believed. When I was little, I remember pouring over Gerry Roach's 1st edition 14ers guidebook and reading about various mountaineering expeditions. Growing up in Colorado and visiting 14ers in my youth with my family set the stage. In July of 2011 my friend Aaron Voth (mennoguy) wanted to spend a few weeks in Silverton visiting peaks in San Juan county and invited me along. I had never done anything like this.....the fatigue and hunger were overwhelming at times but the views and company more than made up for it. I was hooked! He and I had many more trips to various ranges the next few years and I gradually developed a taste for long hard days.. I met and hiked with other folks too along the way (Levi-datum313, Will-V0MIT, Daniel-dehrlich101). As I visited more peaks it seemed ludicrous that I could hope to visit them all. But the impossibility of it became magnetic and I fell in love with the challenging nature of the path less-traveled.

I spontaneously ran into Alex Henes in Ruby Basin August of '21, Teresa Gergen July '22 on UN13486 (sorry not sorry for fangirling so much!!), SupraNihilest Nov '20 on Carson saddle and Natalie Moran last month on V10. All inspiring journeys you've had! I had lived vicariously through their trip reports/feats and they reminded me I wasn't alone in this pursuit. Furthermore's reports were my go-to for the majority of my trip planning though I learned to not totally rely on his stats/times for my pacing purposes as he is an absolute machine. Someday I hope to meet you, Derek!

This pursuit has been therapeutic and I relished every experience the mountains offered rain or shine. They have and continue to teach me many tangible and intangible life lessons. I look forward to learning more! I am thankful for avoiding major injury (though I do remember close calls with loose rock, wind, lightning or sheer clumsiness on my part). The only unpleasant bit was all the driving coming from Greeley but I was lucky my Dad let me borrow his '02 Tacoma for trips to Beartown and the like. I benefited greatly from the trove of trip reports and conditions updates on this site. Many thanks to Bill Middlebrook for continuing to provide a space for this community of like-minded folk! I couldn't have done this alone!

Congratulations Tyler! Finishing the 13ers is a huge accomplishment! We crossed paths above the Petroleum/Larson saddle (Larson side) seven years ago and had a nice 30 minute visit.

Amazing! Mega-congrats!

Great work Tyler, we've definitely had some epic adventures together. I remember on one of our first trips my car battery died at the Huron TH, then I almost ran out of gas driving back and finally I got a flat tire. Later that summer my parking break failed when we were going up to the Crystal Lakes TH and my car rolled into the ditch with you in it. After those incidents I'm surprised you kept climbing with me.
Our adventures were definitely not limited to car troubles. One epic day in the Hunter Frying Pan Wilderness stands out as probably my favorite day in the mountains. We made the mistake of not having enough light to navigate Marten Creek in the dark and ended up spending the night in the drainage. That two week summit blitz in the San Juans was another of my favorite memories.
One thing is for sure, there was never a dull moment when we got together to climb a mountain.

Yes I remember that! You were hiking with someone correct? Good weather that day
