I would agree to that as well. I will do as much as I can to get to the Himalayas by my 30's at the latest and get all this project out of the way soon.

Doing all of them in 4 years seems very doable at your age with a lot of things on your side (youth, fitness, time and assuming you have no kids, no full-time job, etc).

In terms of the order getting them done, I actually like following a rough order of what's on this site in terms of easy to difficult. Do the easier ones first, getting your mountain legs so to speak, and on mountains where there is more margin for error and less consequence for mistakes, easier turn-around options etc. Once you're very comfortable and have no issues on the first third of the easier peaks, then progress into the more difficult ones that have more challenging routes or more consequence of mistakes.

Join your cross country and track teams at school. Run the mile and two mile in track season. Good luck, sounds like a great plan and enjoy the project.

Indeed, the running aspect is great. In fact, I am on cross-country and am really enjoying how its putting me in shape. I wasn't thinking about track but now I think I might do it. Thank you!

Couldn’t agree more. I’m 60 with 8 fairly tricky ones left, but wish I had easier ones to go

That's awesome but just do as many as you can each year (without burnout). You're young and your priorities will change, especially in high school. Better to do as much as you can while you're into it than try to fit some arbitrary plan. Endurance will come and you're probably just hiking too fast and blowing up. Pace yourself so you can hold a conversation and the uphill will go much better for you. A partner (with a car) will be great too.

Yes, excellent advice! It's very easy to push too hard/fast when solo. When I'm walking/talking with someone on the way up I find it greatly improves my endurance through the day (well, unless I'm trying to keep up with someone faster than me - don't do that! Always hike at your own pace).

Agreed. In fact, I kept most of my endurance by simpily being behind my group on redcloud and sunshine.

Most articulate 15 year old, ever. Amazing. Such clarity in purpose and thought. Very realistic.
