That’s f***ing terrible and so sad. I pray the family is able to find peace moving forward and can celebrate his life. If Finney needs more play time, my backyard and truck are all his. RIP

Feel bad for this family guy goes out for a hike on a summer day and never comes home. Animals amaze me the little Jack Finney survived for 3 months in the wild locating food and water and evading predators. A domestic dog with no experience surviving on his own just figured it out. Even with our big brains most humans would not have made it. I remember years ago when Sam the Wolfdog survived a couple months in the remote San Juans by himself.

A really good article.

Make sense that a dog can survive for quite a while down at 7,500 feet. Lots of bugs and critters, and fairly warm in summer.
