looks like next I-70 mess has started

Post by peter303 »

That is the four year construction project to "improve" I-70 at Floyd Hill. Google Maps and Fox31 are report 45-60 minute delays during weekday mid-day commutes. I suppose one could travel weekends, very early, late or avoid I-70 at all.

This is the way, though I am in Colorado Springs, so that makes it a bit easier. I made the mistake of taking I-70 to do Holy Cross a few weeks back which was more than enough I-70 for me this year.

Oh if only that were a viable option for those of us based in Fort Collins...

People: FIX I-70 NOW!!!!

Same people when the road is being fixed: How dare they delay me to fix the road like I have been asking for!

Seriously, we should be really pissed that teleportation hasn't happened yet. That idea has been kicking around forever.

If I'm reading the project description correctly, then it seems like taking US 6 thru Clear Creek canyon won't help. Is this correct?

Four times per day, Monday through Thursday, between 9 am and 3 pm, for two weeks. Shouldn't matter to most people on climbing trips.

The closures are well east and west of the 6 on/off ramp. You wouldn't either be able to get to US 6 (EB) or off of 6 onto 70 (WB). The delay lines might be shorter if heading WB once it is reopened though.
