Re: Skywalker Couloir?
I did Skywalker on the 23rd. We hiked in and snowshoes were not necessary because of the freeze the night before. In fact the snow was so hard that the bottom 2/3 of the col was difficult. We could not kick in and could only get our front points into the icy snow. Then as it got after 11am the snow started to melt and we could kick step at the top. There should still be steps on the top 1/3rd. As for the exits, I'm no expert in which ones are which but it seemed that the "escape" route was corniced, we had no interest in climbing the mixed Hans Solo, but the Leah was fine (just a bit steep!).
At the top we met two guys who later skied down it. By that tie the snow had gotten fairly slushy. And by 1:00 the trail back down was awful; we postholed to our knees or waist every other step.
Bottom Line: the snow in the couloir is good and solid if you get a good freeze, and there is deep snow all the way up the approach.

Yes, all the way to the 4th of July Trailhead. We got there in a Toyota Previa van, so I'm sure anyone could do it.
