Snow Only Route
This route should only be climbed with consolidated, stable snow, usually in spring or early summer. In mid-winter, many snow routes have frequent risk of avalanche.

Trailhead

From the town of Blanca, go west on US-160 and turn right (north) onto CO-150 for 10.7 miles and turn right onto a gated, graded, unpaved, 2WD road. Drive 3.5 miles up the road to reach the trailhead.

Route Description

From South Zapata Lake at 11,875’, this is a good direct line up to Crossfire Ridges’ west ridge. It is also a good bailout option for weather, etc. It may also be a good ski line when filled in.
