From Highway 285: In Grant, turn north onto the Guanella Pass Road. Drive 5 miles to reach the Abyss trailhead on the right.From I-70: Take the Georgetown exit and follow the signs directing you to Guanella Pass. Once on Guanella Pass Road, drive for 12 miles until you reach the top of the pass. Continue down the other side (south) of the pass for approximately seven miles until you reach the Abyss trailhead on the left.
