Info: Rough 2wd to Montgomery Reservoir TH clear and dry. Wheeler Lakes 4WD quite soggy, snow patches after 11,500 feet (end of flat marshy area as road begins to swing across valley and up to the lakes). ~2 miles up from the Reservoir is where snow patches begin.

Info: Drove in a 4x4 Tacoma all the way to the trailhead. It was a little icy getting there, but it thawed by the time we left.

Info: Mostly dry. A few patches of snow ice. Shouldn‘t be a problem for any car. Winter closure is in effect so you can‘t drive all the way around to the back side of the reservoir.

Info: Closed at the gate 1/4 mile before the parking lot due to snow drifting, should probably be open to the parking lot in a week or two.

Info: 6/28/08- The road is rough after the res., and I would recommend you have a proper vehicle to go up into the basin. There is a large snowfield blocking passage at 11,500‘, which is just shy of the normal 4x4 parking area. Other snow fields abound after that, but it is (was) melting out quickly. You can either walk over or around the snow fields, but the area is just wet in general. I did the North Ridge on Democrat, and it was snow free. North Couloir still has snow it, and even had fresh ski tracks in it.
