9/1/2023 Route: Southeast Ridge Posted On: 9/1/2023, By: SionaRW35 Info: Beautiful trail up to the lake. Moderate bushwhacking from lake to tree line. GPX is helpful here. Partner got stung a few times by suspected wasps navigating the willows just above treeline. Summit block is a challenge for us short people. |

7/13/2023 Route: Northwest Ridge Posted On: 7/13/2023, By: HikerGuy Info: Fall Creek Trail has some wet spots and some short snow crossings. From pass to summit and back down southeast ridge to 4wd road is completely dry. Summit block is easy if you have long legs, dismounted on the opposite side of block. |

6/25/2023 Route: Northwest Ridge Posted On: 6/25/2023, By: shepherdkyle Info: Last peak of the day and number 4 at that. After a deliberation, we decided to charge ahead. No substantial snow on ridge; all avoidable. Glissaded down into Lake Constantine drainage. Snow fields to the lake were annoying, but not impossible to navigate. Muddy trail on the way out in places. The river jump was interesting. Animas car never looked so good at the TH. |

10/16/2022 Route: Northwest Ridge Posted On: 10/16/2022, By: gluckhikes Info: NW ridge is mostly snow covered but there are enough rocks poking out to sting together a dry route. Mostly dry on the summit ridge. Summit block has a helpful cairn at the base that makes the boulder problem into a 1-move wonder, very fun. |

9/17/2022 Route: South Gully Posted On: 9/18/2022, By: supranihilest Info: I parked at the unmarked trailhead a half mile up from Fancy/Missouri Lakes trailheads and took the Holy Cross City road to where things opened up below the southeast gully. There's some irritating avalanche debris at the bottom, stick to the sides. The route from there is extremely straightforward on steep grass which turns to steep boulders. The steepness is sustained. The Class 5.6 summit boulder is a bit difficult as a short person but a small left foot and super high right foot got my on top. It snowed about an inch while I was up there but most melted. Northern aspects might be snowy still. |

7/25/2022 Route: Northwest Ridge Posted On: 7/25/2022, By: mtngoatwithstyle Info: Parked car at the end of the FS727 road before it intersects with Holy Cross City 4WD. Hiked via Fall Creek Pass, trail in great shape, willows are growing like children with all this rain and were much taller than me. I started ascending a little bit before the pass on a grassy area. Definitely a gentle ridge and some big talus and rocks as you approach the ridge. Block summit does not have a register. Great Summer conditions. 2 Bull moose on the way down as there are all these willows that they are devouring happily. |

11/14/2021 Route: South Slopes Via Holy Cross City Road Posted On: 11/15/2021, By: kempenjn Info: Holy Cross City Road passable by foot without flotation. South Slopes of Whitney are muddy / grassy with low snowpack in most areas. Didn't summit due to time constraint. |

6/27/2021 Route: Northwest Ridge Posted On: 6/28/2021, By: eskermo Info: From French Creek after hiking 13,768'. There is a sweet cairned high traverse that contours from Fall Creek Pass above the upper Seven Sisters lake, but below cliffs and gullies, over to the south slopes of 13,768 if that is your goal. NW slopes were clear up to the true eastern summit block. Glad I brought climbing shoes because I would not have attempted the boulder problem otherwise in boots, or even approach shoes. Felt trivial getting up, but the downclimb messed with my head and took about 15 tries before committing. Solid 5.6 for all of one move IMO. Summit register was in good shape. Took the SE ridge/slopes on the descent back to the Holy Cross City Rd. Only saw two other people all day! |

7/17/2020 Route: South slopes Posted On: 7/18/2020, By: Uffda Info: My Forester made it to the end of FS727 (where it intersects the Holy Cross Jeep Road) with no issues. Made the hike a loop by returning via the NW ridge and Fall Creek Pass. |
