Francois' FB page said it's on as of yesterday (7/4) at 12pm (not sure what timezone).
Agree, hype, but at some point a high-profile athlete was going to make this attempt. I don't think it's Francois hyping, but he is obviously sponsored by Salomon, so there's that. My guess was that Courtney or Killian would have tried this, but that shows you just how much I know.
PS - I know Zach Miller has mentioned this as well. He's running Hardrock next week and I'll be rooting for him.
