Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I really appreciate it! Especially Scott, who did a bunch of these with me in the last several years.

There are so many memorable experiences on this list. The first mountain I climbed in Colorado was Humboldt. The Ellingwood Arete on the Needle. My 14er finisher on South Maroon. Jagged Peak with a good friend who is no longer with us. Turret Peak at sundown after a rainstorm. Wham Ridge on Vestal. Rio Grande Pyramid with my dog in late Fall. The endless rappel off of Coxcomb. Climbing in Ice Lakes basin before it was so busy. The great snow climbs on the peaks in Yankee Boy. The Poles with a dusting of snow. The remoteness of the Weminuche mountains. Peak 15 from the beautiful Ruby Lakes. And of course my last one , Peak Six from No Name.

One more thought, we have a great community here! Sure the mountains are cool. They certainly have made my life better. More importantly it’s the people you meet along the way…my partners, friends, many of the people on this thread, or just someone you talk to on a summit. That’s what has made this really good. There has never been a time that I reached out for beta that someone in this group has not helped. I’ve always tried to do the same. The information Bill has put together and all our contributions to the site have been indispensable. No way I could have completed the BiCents without this group.

In the last several years it seems like there are a lot of new people in the mountains. I hope we can lend a hand to them and share some experience. It’s important because it keeps us all safe and lets us enjoy these great mountains. See you in the hills! Richard
The summit is a source of power. The long view gives one knowledge and time to prepare. The summit, by virtue of the dizzying exposure, leaves one vulnerable. A bit of confidence and a dash of humility is all we get for our work. Yet to share these moments with friends is to be human. C. Anker
