Class 3 near Summit County

Post by mijoflynn »

I'm in Silverthorne for the next month, and want to do some class 3 while I'm here. I come out every year on vacation, and usually hike solo, but I wouldn't mind company on any of the hikes on my tentative list (and I'm open to others in the same difficulty range):

Citadel
Kelso Ridge
Sawtooth / Blue Sky west ridge direct
West Partner south ridge
Pacific east ridge
Wheeler
Ice
Lindsey

40s M, with lots of experience on class 1/2; I've done a dozen or so class 3 routes, so not a n00b, but not a pro either. Faster than average on 1/2, probably slower than average on 3, good with exposure so far, route-finding is improving but imperfect. I'm on vacation, so I can hike pretty much any day the weather looks good. And I've got a car that's already been to all of the 4WD THs for these peaks. Hit me up if you're interested.

Father Dyer east ridge
Father Dyer-Crystal traverse
Wichita falcon ridge(route finding to the ridge can be challenging)
Peaks 1 to 4 traverse
East Thorn
North to Grand traverse

Some of these may have some 4th.

Ice is in the sawatch
Lindsey is Sangres
… Neither is close to summit
Traveling light is the only way to fly.
