Finally finished the Centennials!

Post by smrcka »

After many years of perseverance, I finally completed the Centennial peaks on Saturday, July 5 with a summit of Arrow Peak. I had the full Weminuche experience to finish things off. I was very grateful to meet several folks who helped me keep my stoke going and make it to the summit. Of course, Bill’s incredible site and all the different folks who’ve posted on here with trip reports and conditions updates over the years have helped me so much! Very much appreciated and valued! Thank you to the 14ers community!

Congratulations! I really enjoyed the Vestal group. Which are your favorites?

Nice way to finish! Congrats!
The summit is a source of power. The long view gives one knowledge and time to prepare. The summit, by virtue of the dizzying exposure, leaves one vulnerable. A bit of confidence and a dash of humility is all we get for our work. Yet to share these moments with friends is to be human. C. Anker

Congrats on completing the centennials! You picked a fun peak as your finisher.

Also, it's good to see someone with lots of life experience (i.e., old like me) complete a mountaineering goal.

That's awesome! Congrats. I was hoping to see this post this morning. We chatted with you in our campsite on Wednesday night camped by the rail road tracks. Thanks for all the stories about the centennials.

Congrats!!!!! It was fun hanging out with you by the campfire near the Animas! We were rooting for you all weekend and hoping for a good-weather day for you on Saturday!

What a great achievement! Even the approach to Arrow looked heinous when I glanced it from the beaver dams . . . nice work!

Thru-hiking the Colorado Trail next? :-D

I congratulate you sir.

Congrats again, John! It was great to meet you and spend some time getting to know you this weekend. I'm glad we crossed paths for both of our respective Centennial finishers!
