That's horrible. It was a plane flying for Sita Air. We flew on Tara Air but it could have been any of the many small airlines flying to Lukla. They are thinking it was a bird strike.

I remember all the excitement and anticipation getting into the air and seeing the mountains in the distance. No doubt that these people were feeling similar feelings before the plane went down. May they rest in peace.

That flight into Lukla over a decade ago was the scariest thing I did in Nepal, and I did some scary things. I remember seeing all the old plane wreckage below the runway as we landed. I did hear they finally paved it though. I still suggest walking.
