Ben, thanks for sharing a great outing and writing a great story. This was the best 14er descent I have yet experienced: beautiful climbing, incredible skiing, perfect weather, new friends.

Brittany, Pam and Frank - great to meet you, hope we can do this some more!

Ben, you and Matt rock. What can I say. Thanks for a great TR and some really cool photos.

Guess I can‘t keep hiding from you guys forever - eventually you will drag me up one of these. And back down.

Way to get after it. Both of you have my complete respect and admiration.

Jim

90 Shilling :D I always love this time of year for the trip reports. Great photos and story. Well done.

With snow cover looks like the smart time of year to climb Little Bear.

Great photos, they do an awesome job of telling the story. I really like that one of you guys on the way out with Ellingwood behind you. That area is simply amazing... skiing the hourglass and baby thunder is really getting after it. Awesome job!

but having done that peak in summer, I know it‘s not!

What an adventure, what a day, what a trip report. Pretty gutsy to ski some of those slopes.

Great job to all of you.

That‘s some great skiing, not to mention the slope of Baby Thunder, the snow conditions and azure skies.

You are all an inspiration. Thanks very much for the report. It gives me a much better idea of what to expect when I head for the summit (without anything to ski or ride) later in May. Vort.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Doctor No, kimo - I would highly recommend climbing LB in spring snow conditions. It's not only way more fun this way but also a lot safer than in summer provided you‘re good with climbing steep snow. I doubt I'll be heading up this mountain again in summer.

Schralp - The route is in great condition currently, Frank basically said he doesn't think it gets much better.

The climb up certainly looks a lot more inviting under cover of snow.

Congrats on a steep and committing line I know you were looking forward to. You both have been off to a strong start this spring! See you in 6 hours for another one.
