Thanks for reading my TR. Have fun jumping in the lake. I definitely want another go. I will keep that in mind and will think about accompanying you.

Snow

We attempted Humboldt (kinda) about 6 weeks ago with some newbies, but had to turn back cause their feet got too cold in the snow between the TH & treeline. We only made it about 1 mile past the TH because of the snow. All 4 of us are going to attempt again this weekend, should I tell them to prepare to freeze their feets off for the part of the hike through the trees up to the lakes? Thanks for the great TRs. - james

Technically, you‘re poaching

I‘m glad you got a couple of fish, but the only legal way to catch a trout in a wilderness area in Colorado is with line and hook. What you did was bordering on poaching. Good thing a DOW officer wasn‘t around. There are also specific rules on the lures you can use in a wilderness area. Flies and lures only; a Cliff bar is considered bait and is not allowed. Just thought you might want to know, a doubt you‘d want a hefty fine after a couple of nice 14er summits.

You two crack me up ... love the Beavis and Butthead t-shirt (man, I miss that show  ), and the neckerchief, and your funny poses on the summit (hey, at least you're taking off your shirts and not yer pants  ), and jumping in the lake (that whole Jerry Seinfeld cold water episode comes to mind  ). You remind me of my husband who has an ”offbeat sense of humor” . Look forward to more reports from you. Thanks for posting. Happy trails! :D

Great TR

I can‘t believe you jumped into that lake, I‘m heading up there August 5th, if I can muster up the courage to jump in i‘ll add a TR. I‘m also planning on doing the KC, Challenger, and Humboldt combo via Bears Playground, so if you wanna give that another go let me know and would be glad to have some more hikers!
