I was sitting around Denver this weekend with horrible weather trying to get a 14er bagged and bailed on Saturday but decided to give one a go on Sunday. Thankfully, Jonathan (ortlieb) and Carl (Wesley) were willing to give Princeton a shot. Turned out to be a great day...here are the pics:
Left Golden at 4 A.M and arrived at the Princeton trailhead around 6:15 or so...
Here's the first pic of our start where we parked at one of the switchbacks on the road (I think at about 11,200) and yes that's ortlieb getting the job done
Sunrise from the start of the hike
Jonathan and Carl at about 12,000 ft...just getting started on the hike up
Me with a faint image of Princeton in the background
Carl and Jonathan making their way up the trail...it was tricky rock scrambling with the slick snow.
A look back towards Buena Vista from about 12,500 ft.
The slopes of Princeton...with a light dusting of snow.

Mt. Antero from the Princeton trail
Carl and Jonathan making their way up the rocks...great picture...the clouds were rising, it was neat to see
Me on the summit

All-in-all, great day...wasn't terribly cold...probably started out at 40 and was probably 25 or 30 at the summit. Got a little snowed on the way up there but it cleared here and there and made for a great hike. Good work Wesley and ortlieb. Let's do it sometime again.

A little bit of snow and we nearly have the mountain to ourselves. I can‘t complain. Nice TR.
