Bierstadt - North face gully route

A very nice day to go up. It was a little icy in spots through the willows but were easily avoided. (ski poles helped) I climbed the North face Gully route and it was in good shape! Very little snow (again easily avoided if you wanted) Several slippery rock slide areas were crossed on the way up but solid footing was available if you choose the right route.

Could have done without gaiters if you were picky but for those who want a more direct route then gaiters will help in a few spots if you lose the trail.

As you may know, both routes (standard, and N gully) start at the same TH and then the N gully veers to the left. I missed the TH going up and had to find my own way up the gully (never found the trail) Its labeled as difficult class II but be aware that there are a few class 3 areas to ascend up the gully.

I came back down the standard route and was looking for the TH I missed only to find it at 13,050‘ and not 13,300 as the online description suggests. I could be wrong, but I use a very accurate GPS with the SIRF chipset. maybe someone else can confirm this.

Cheers!
