Were you climbing the north face of N. Maroon in September?

Not sure

We didn't have a map and I'm just putting up the trip report from 14 months ago so I don't exactly remember what part we climbed, but it sure as hell wasn't an access point. At the top of it was a scraggly ridge that led nowhere. North Maroon from there was separated by a 500 foot dropoff and 100 yards of space so we called it a day. I'm not proud of my negligence in preparation for this one. I had 2 14ers under my belt at the time and totally underestimated the elk range. Still, the experience was awesome, one I will never forget.

Good decision to turn around

Those mountains are beautiful and will be there for a long time, glad to see you made the smart decision. I found the NE ridge route description on this site to be very helpful and accurate if you give this one another go.

Oh, and maybe next time leave the jeans behind, not the best pants to be wearing if you get cold or wet!
