I called the National Forest Service, Holy Cross Ranger District to find out 2012 plans for Tigiwon Road. Here is the official word: Road will remain closed until June 20, 2012 for Elk issues. After June 20th, they plan to open it full time for normal operation throughout the summer. There are still a few loads of Beetle-Kill logs to bring out, but there are no plans to close the road to move them. At worst after June 20th, visitors will experience short delays while logging trucks move. Vort.
