6/14/2025 Route: little molas Posted On: 6/14/2025, By: zootloopz Info: Took the CT almost 5 miles to the unmaintained trail marked on caltopo that will take you to the hardrock course west of the peak. A snowfield exists that can be skirted clinbers right at class 3 and glissaded on the way down. Summer conditions outside of this. 3:24 round trip 13.1 miles 3k gain. This peak is awesome!!! Photos of the surrounding area included. Still lots of north facing snow in the south San juans. |

8/30/2022 Route: from Twin Sisters Posted On: 9/1/2022, By: SnowAlien Info: I've read in some of the reports that the approach trail utilizes Hardrock 100 trail, so it was interesting to check it out. The trail is narrow, faint and and muddy in spots. It starts with the river crossing, but the rocks are to low, so it's either removing shoes or wet feet. On the way up, I figured my feet will be wet from the wet grass anyway, but removed the shoes for a nice ice bath on the return. The trail is steep and very muddy and the creeks use the trail as a drainage. I managed to divert the water a couple times, but there's only so much I could do with a pole. There's also a lot of unnecessary elevation gain and loss. Lots of water sources with flowing creeks to around 11k. Above the treeline, the trail becomes a grassy path with cairns marking the way. I rebuilt and enhanced some of the cairns. Trail becomes hard to see and then disappears around 12.5k. Summit has no register. |

7/18/2020 Route: From the Twin Sisters Posted On: 7/19/2020, By: supranihilest Info: AKA V7. Easy from the Twin Sisters. We ascended over Point 12,601 and then made the final ascent up grassy slopes to 13,042. Our descent route took us to the saddle between Point 12,601 and Point 12,579, which is the mile long ridge to the north, and then down an unmarked but excellent trail in Porcupine Creek drainage. The trail would probably be hard to miss but once you're on it it's super cruiser. |

8/1/2017 Route: Hardrock 100 Route from 585 Posted On: 8/5/2017, By: JasonKline Info: As expected from https://www.14ers.com/php14ers/tripreport.php?trip=17400 Hardrock 100 route was wet and muddy, but easy to follow. The small amount of snow was easily avoidable. |
