6/18/2024 Route: West Fork TH/Rainbow hot springs Posted On: 6/20/2024, By: SnowAlien Info: Combining hot springs and peakbagging, my two favorite activities? - sign me up! Thanks to Otina for the idea, I had no idea these hot springs even existed before I read her report. Alpine_addict and I packed in on Day 1 to the springs base camp. Lots of beetle kill in the area. Day 2 - ~15 mile summit treck through the burnt forest on a well maintained forest service trail. Once above the treeline, it got windy, so we took the most direct route south of the summit, leaving the trail at the old mining cart. Climbed 20 feet of Class 4+ to find 2 old nails just below the summit cairn. Descended the variation of standard (Class 2) and dropped back into West Fork drainage. Soaked in the hot springs at the end of the summit day, as well as on Day 3, before the 2+ hour hike out. ~25 miles and 5k+ total. River is pretty high at the moment, so some hot pools are still under water, but a couple are exposed (and felt warmer at the end of the day vs in the morning). |

5/17/2024 Route: via Middle Creek Road Posted On: 5/19/2024, By: 14ercooper Info: Road was easily drivable to Love Lake, then drivable for a bit past it to around a mile and a half from the end of the road with some difficulty (lots of deadfall). Snow was very punchy, but that's probably more to do with hiking it in the afternoon/evening than anything. Still a lot of snow, but I was largely able to follow ridgelines to avoid the worst of it. |

7/7/2022 Route: Ivy Creek Trail Posted On: 7/8/2022, By: TravelingMatt Info: Trail is generally easy to follow and most blowdowns have been cut. You might lose it in spots above treeline but keep going in the obvious direction and you'll find it again. Once your 11-mile approach to the summit block is over, you can ascend either the east face, heading up directly from the trail underneath the summit through scree, or go around to the north and find an opening slightly northwest of South River's main N-S ridge. Both are steep class 2. The south face and west sides definitely do not go. |

5/28/2022 Route: Ivy Creek Posted On: 5/28/2022, By: supranihilest Info: Longest and most boring 13er there is? Mid-summer conditions. With exception of a handful of small, easy snowfields above treeline the route is snow free. Quite swampy above treeline though. Lots of deadfall along the whole route. Trail runners were all we needed. |

6/7/2020 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 6/8/2020, By: sdkeil Info: Peak goes without any flotation or traction needed. Lots of down timber along the trail, which made the 24.5 miles feel even longer. The standard class 2 summit finish wraps below the cliffs on the SE face, but this was guarded by a steep snow slope that had high penalty points for a slip. An alternate snow free summit finish can be found by taking the East ridge direct and finding a short, loose class 3 gully on the NW side of the final summit ridge. |
