La Garita Trail was faint in places, and shortly after the trail sign, the trail stays on the same side of the creek, but crosses a substantial amount of deadfall. Above treeline, snow is minimal and entirely avoidable The mine road closures are still in effect--please see Furthermore‘s TR for excellent directions on how to bypass the closure to reach the start of the climb. |
