On a climb up West Gully at Black Lake in Glacier Gorge(west of Longs) we encountered HEAVY snow conditions throughout the RMNP area. All lakes in the area, below and above treeline, are covered in snow. All slopes are loaded from heavy snow and low winds. Snow pack is heavy and unconsolidated on all slopes we encountered. After our climb(ending at 10 pm on the 23rd) winds picked up and created avalanches on several east facing slopes, including our route climbed just hours earlyer. Please be careful in the RMNP alpine areas. Its unsafe in my opinion. Rock routes are your best and safest bet for now.
#1 is Trough very right Couloir
#2 is West Gully and McHenerey's Peak
#3 is Longs North Face. very heavy for early winter
