Condition Update

With variable conditions abounding across the state; we opted to stick to a lower pitched line. Pennsylvania Mountain fit this bill. In fact overly - the terrain is barely steep enough to keep any speed riding down! It still beat hiking both ways. The skiers in the group had a much easier time on the flatter sections. The central mountain ranges in the state are looking very white currently (cloudy conditions blocked many photo ops today). Overall a fun day out, catching up with friends & making some turns!

Brad, thanks for organizing and coming down. Great meeting up with you guys yesterday. Had a blast and definitely learned a major lesson when skiing BC: Turn your brakes on FIRST or the ski could run a long way away! Thanks Jason, you saved my a$$ and I won’t forget it. To the group, great meeting you and I hope we can meet up again.

...to see you Jon! It was fun meeting up with groups of friends from 3 different parts of the state! It should also be mentioned that the South Park Brewery is a great stop in Fairplay – a variety of brews & some tasty food. The large, near flat summit area of Penn Mountain should definitely be considered for sporting events... assuming Uncompahgre is already booked up for the weekend!
