Unfortunately, RMNP and DNP and the Colorado Monument all prohibit dogs on trails. The only park that allows (limited) leashed dogs on trails is Sand Dunes. On the plus side, there are many places that are not National Parks that DO allow dogs and have good car camping, such as National Forest land. I wouldn't suggest anything in the Norwood/Telluride area right now, as we have a fire burning, but there are many other options if you're not limited to a National Park.
Such things for example as the grasp of a child's hand in your own, the flavor of an apple, the embrace of a friend or lover...sunlight on rock and leaves, the feel of music, the bark of a tree, the abrasion of granite and sand, the plunge of clear water into a pool, the face of the wind--- what else is there? What else do we need?
