 “Sneva Peak” Afternoon + Rockpile Morning = FUN   

Ah the weather. Colorado is famous for its weather. Some days this is great and others not so much. I arrived at Darrell’s at 7am to go for the North Chute of Peak 1. This day the weather wasn’t having any of it. Very high winds aloft were creating a very cloudy situation. We decided to go ski slackcountry at A-Basin instead. 1st we tried to head up Chihuahua but 90 mph gusts and 40+ sustained winds hammered us and we decided that the trees on the other side of the area were a better way to go. A nice lap ensued.

After our Rockpile lap the weather seemed to be mellowing out so me and Skylar headed up Vail Pass. We left a car at Officers Gulch and kept going to the pass where we started a tour up “Sneva Peak”. This unnamed peak is on the east side of Uneva Pass and offers stunning views of the Tenmile Canyon lines.
