 Grays and Blue Bird Skies

We pulled into to trail head paring lot around 0630hr and there was a chill in the air but the skies were blue and not a cloud in them. After preparing out gear and finishing out coffee we started up the trail around 0700hrs. For the first mile or so was frozen mud and some spots that had iced over puddles. After the first mile or so it would become all packed snow with a few spot of dirt showing through.
For most of the hike you see Grays and Torreys Peak as you approach
Once at the top you can see forever so maybe a suggestion would be to print off a topo map so you know what you are looking at once at the top
The only other tip I have for this one is maybe put on more layers before getting to the peak because once up there it is really windy and a lot colder to put more layers on.
Happy Hiking!
