 A nice day on Evans

Up-Mt. Evans via Mt. Spalding
Down-Northeast Face

We started at Summit Lake at 8:10 in the morning. It was surprisingly light when we started climbing Mt. Spalding. It was easy terrain for the first stretch after the parking lot. Once you reach the boulder field, it is rocky until the summit road except for a stretch just over
Mt. Spalding, which I call Mountain Goat Valley . Then you climb just below the summit of "West Evans." On the way down the Northeast face, you will probably want shoes with a lot of traction so you don't slip and fall as much.

Good job on 14er number 4 for the year. Love the colors on the apsens, looks like a good time to drive up to summit lake.
