 Retreat on Mt. Yale

This was a retreat with the teens from the church. We had 11 guys come and hike with us. We spent the night in a campsite close to the trailhead and were up at 4:30am to pack up. We hit the trail at 5:20. The trip was nice and everyone made the summit. For some of these guys, this was the first 14er, and this was my 14th 14er.
Standing on a some air. There is a rock that is on the trail that makes for a great shot.
Starting to wake up, the sleep over the night was not the best, my tent was at an angle and I had to pee a three times. I hate that.
Some of the great shots, on Mt. Yale you get a 360 view of the surrounding ranges. There was one range that still had some snow on it, it was very pretty.
We got to the top by the paper was gone, hate that, because I always enjoy signing it with my mountain name, maybe you have seen my tag on there before. Some of the guys I was with were really excited too about signing this, but hopefully next time.
A summit view. It was great up there, very little wind and was not cold at all. No need for a jacket, probably one of the best summit days ever.
The Legend continues to hunt the 14ers. This is my 14th one in the last year and a half. My goal this summer and early fall is to get to the twenties. This would be a great accomplish, and I got four so far this summer.
The whole crew that was with me at the top. For a lot of these guys, this was the first 14er ever. It was good to get everyone up and feeling good about themselves. It was a strong team too.
Always seem to go to fast to get this streams on the way up, but coming down, I always try to get some of these because these are some of the best shots. I had a great one on Grays and Torreys last week.
Happy hiking everyone.

I was up there Tues. and the wind blew all day with gusts to 30-40 mph. Congrats to your team as this isn‘t the easiest 14er around.
