Sneffels- Blaine Basin Approach, Lavender Climb, Snake Ski

My trip reports from 5/22/2010.

I know the San Jans don't get a lot of love/info on this site, but they should. I also had a lot of trouble making the POV edit of skiing the Snake, so don't judge me too hard. But if my last TR is any indication, this is probably the nicest, kindest group of outdoorsy people on the interwebs.

Thoroughly enjoyed the PoV descent! Good timing on the beta, trying to head back into Blaine Basin this weekend!

Solid POV footage, looks like a unique line, climbing or skiing. I imagine those guys you saw were hauling ass. They drove by us as we were shouldering our skis and were heading out as we got back to the car.

Looked like a great line to ride. Pinched pretty tight in the middle. What time of day was your descent?? Saw the slough playing with you a little bit. Good work!!

I was drooling all over that line before dropping into the retched birthday chutes. Someday...

gohigher- we dropped in at about 1:30pm, a little late but the north facing, super protected couloir was stable, and there were tracks in it from an earlier, very in-shape party. The slough wasn‘t playing with me nearly as much as the wobbly legs and the ice that my buddies had exposed, it was awfully tempting to just straightline the crux.

Easy Rider- Congrats on your season, you‘ve set the bar high for all of my knuckle dragging mountaineer friends. I‘ll gladly repeat this one next season if you need a partner.

Lame (read with sarcasm)...

We‘re only being nice because you didn‘t use the words epic, gnarly, or stoke. Had you made any gesture to how ‘awesome‘ this TR was... we would have ripped you a new one, called you lame, and probably made fun or your mom too

Sick nevertheless...
