On my list... this fall

Thanks for the report, these peaks have been on my list for a while. Though I am thinking of adding in James Peak, if I can garner the energy for the extra mileage and elevation gain

On my list too...

Excellent report and photos. I‘ll always be fond of Mt Eva - she was the first big mountain I climbed under my own power just over a year ago. I summited Antero and Santa Fe previous to Eva but I drove to nearly the top of those peaks. Eva was the first mountain to prove to me that I could do it

To mark the date I planned to climb James, Bancroft, and Parry this past Sunday. Unfortunately I slept in Sunday and got a late start - 11 AM. I made it to the top of James Peak and relunctantly headed back down. The ridge from James to Bancroft looked like a lot of fun. I‘d attempt it this weekend but made plans with friends to do the Harvard and Columbia traverse.

Thanks for the report Greenhouseguy and good luck Otina when you get around to it.

Nice report. I saw a huge, and obviously very ambitious, dead dragonfly about 100 feet from Belford‘s summit this weekend.

James Peak

I think that James Peak would be possible to add to this list, but it would put this hike in an entirely different class. The ridge from Bancroft to James is either Class 3 or Class 5, depending on who you ask. Either way, it would require some skill do do it with ice & snow. Dropping down into the basin would be safer, but it would require you to lose and regain a lot of altitude. With decreased chances of afternoon thunderstorms, I wouldn‘t rule out this option.
