Mount Bierstadt West Slopes--1st 14er |
I DID IT! FIRST 14ER! WOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!
I left Englewood at 3:30am. Arrived at trailhead at 5am. "30 minutes early" I thought, "lets get hiking".
Opened car door.
Dang it‘s cold.
Closed car door......slept till 6:30am.
Hit the trail at 6:30am. Quickly met up with the only other hiker there. Nate from Louisiana. A great guy and it was a plesure hiking with you. We trudged up the mountain and summited at 9:15am. Spent about 20-30 minutes on the summit and got back to the cars at 11:45am. What a great day. I think I like this 14er stuff.
Oh and be careful on the boardwalks when there is frost. They are slippery.
Oh and I think the term easy 14er is BS. It was created to kill tourists. Today was fun but I‘m whooped.
