 Mt. Sneffels

We started at 7am. There were rain and snow clouds over half the mountain, and it started to hail on us. We were a little worried, but by 9am or so, it started to clear up. Image, Image, Image, 8 There was a lot of wind and it had snowed some on the top, but it didn't affect the climb too much. Trekking poles sure helped because of the loose rock/gravel and a little bit of mud and snow. Image, We were the second people up and many more followed us, so getting an early start was helpful. Any earlier and we would have been snowed on up higher. We could see quite a few people going up the southwest ridge, but we stayed on the standard route. Either way would be beautiful, certainly a little harder on the ridge. Incredible summit although a bit cold. All in all, awesome trip. Took us 6 hours total, including lunch. Image, Image, Image
