Mt. Lindsey

Starting time: 5:20am
Summit: 9:05am (half hour on summit)
Back at trailhead: 12:30pm
Hiking at a moderate pace with a couple short breaks

Beautiful day on Mt. Lindsey, sunny with hardly any clouds. We camped at the trailhead to get an early start. The last mile of the very easy 4x4 road has plenty of campsites to choose from. The first mile of the hike is very easy but after that the trail is steep all the way to the basin. Once on the ridge we were planning on the standard route but after we went up past the first gulley, which really is not that bad if you stay to the right, there was snow that appeared to be blocking easy passage. We did not want to cross the snow so we climbed straight up to the ridge which was a little exposed but nothing too bad. From there we followed the ridge over the false summit to the true summit. From the summit we actually took the standard route back down and the snow that was giving us problems before was soft and easy to step accross.

The weather was perfect and the basin and valley are beautiful!
