 Antero - southwestern ascent/decent

Great day climbing but I had difficulty finding the TH to the southwestern ascent (from the jeep road) as it was shown on the route map. I did find the southeastern trail which is a wide jeep road about 1/4 mile from where the southwest trail was shown. This ascent went directly to the summit. When I viewed my decent route from the summit, I noticed a trail traversing the northern face of the sub peak and thought that it was the southwestern ascent route. This was not the case and I ended up decending on a very "mobile" scree slope. There were no route makers or cairns . I saw a dog up to its shoulders in scree. My suggestion is to return using the jeep trail or proceed directly south over the sub peak and avoid what looks like a resonable decent route. Your compas is your friend and I forgot that simple rule.
