 Mosquito Range in Bad Weather

Over all the trip was enjoyable, but the weather certainly tested our endurance and desire to climb.

From the Kite Lake trail head, Lynn, Tyler, and myself took the standard combination route up to Mt. Democrat then over to Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross.

The first mistake of the day was made when we took a trail/ old road that went up and away from Kite Lake. It wasn't a complete disaster, but it took us across some muddy terrain until we got back to the main path.

The trails were largely typical most of the way, with only a few spots that were on snow, but nothing difficult/ no ice-axe needed.

The weather was overcast almost all day with intermittent showers. This combined with some exceptionally strong winds made for a rather trying climb.
