Micah - sounds like you guys had an awesome time. Nice job! I‘m stoked to get down to the Sangres later this summer (once I‘m finally done skiing!)

We met you guys...

Just above the crux - or as I was just getting off the crux. Thanks for the encouragement. We heard that you guys did a dance or something when you saw that my climbing partner Kim and I reached the summit. That‘s awesome! It turns out that we also met Jean at the Cielo Vista gate as we left Culebra. (I tried to convince him that I was the guy collecting the money. ) About the road, I agree that it wasn‘t that bad. I wasn‘t gonna try to take my new Honda Fit up there, but I might have been able to get my old, beat up Sentra up there with careful driving.

Matt- For sure next time. Crestones 11-12 July if you haven‘t done them yet.

Fleetmac- it‘s always about having fun but making smart moves at the same time.

Jake, - Hit me up when you are done skiing and we can share an adventure.

CarpeDM- Congrats on your summit! Seems like you got a real spunky climbing partner. I guess I forgot you guys in my TR. I didn‘t really have any photos of you guys. That‘s awesome you met Jean. I hope to catch another peak with him.

See you at the top!

We ran into you guys too

I was with one other guy and we talked to you just before you reach the summit (wished we stayed for the dancing!) You helped us with some route directions on the ridge, but we climbed down the couloir instead. There were places where the snow was getting thin, but they were easily avoidable and plenty of places to comfortably plunge step our way down! Maybe only a week left before the couloir gets pretty mixed. That was a good day!

Where did those guys come from???

We (CarpeDM & I) ran into those crazy mountian men at the top too!! Where did they come from??????? Great TR, and congrats on the summit. One thing I will add for folks heading up. The route description gives a few possible paths up the class 4 crux wall. We took up one of the options to the left and came down the top of the ridge. The lower options in the picture (photo 5) were very solid but had a bit more exposure. We desended the top of the ridge which seemed to be a bit easier climbing, but was a little looser.

At least you didn‘t run into a crazy chick with a gun on the way out that was yelling at trees!
